You are looking at our Peru packages with the hotel level turned all the way up. Nothing else is dressed up. You get the same licensed guides, the same train seats and the same Machu Picchu ticket as every traveler on the route, and a 5-star hotel every night the route allows it.
The hotel, and only the hotel. Each package sells the same itinerary at two or three hotel levels, and the 5-star level is called Signature. Hotel nights go to 5-star hotels, and in Aguas Calientes, the small town under Machu Picchu, the package books the top category it lists. A few nights are not hotels on any level: the family home on Amantaní island on the ceremony trips and the lodges near the Uyuni salt flats on the Bolivia routes stay exactly as they are.
You see the hotel names in writing before you pay anything. The quote lists every hotel, night by night, next to the price per person in a double room. Traveling alone? The single-room supplement is in the same quote, not a surprise later.
The tours are shared by default: a small group with one licensed guide. That is what every published price covers, the 5-star level included. Want a private guide and vehicle? Ask, and we quote it per trip. The written confirmation always says which service you bought.
The train is the class named on each package page, usually the Expedition or Vistadome service between Ollantaytambo and Aguas Calientes. A seat on the Belmond Hiram Bingham is not part of any package. If that is the trip you have in mind, ask for it and we price it with the rest.
On a long trip, yes. On a 10-day route you spend 9 nights in hotels, and at Cusco's 3,399 m (11,152 ft) a quiet, warm room and a long breakfast make the next early start easier. Honeymoons and milestone trips are the other easy yes.
On a 2-day Machu Picchu trip, think twice. You sleep one night, in Aguas Calientes, and you spend most of your waking hours on the train and in the ruins. There the gap in price buys you very little time in the room. Compare the two columns in the table and decide with the numbers in front of you.
The rules are the same at every level. You pay a 30 percent deposit by card through a payment link, and the balance on arrival in Peru. Cancel 30 days or more before the trip and you get a refund, except for Machu Picchu tickets and Inca Trail permits already issued in your name, and train tickets minus the railway's penalty. The terms and cancellation policy has the full text, and who we are explains the company you book with.
Not sure which route to upgrade? Start with the Peru vacation packages or the Machu Picchu tours, then ask for the 5-star quote. A planner in Cusco replies in writing within one working day.
The hotels. The 5-star level books 5-star hotels for the hotel nights and the top category the package lists in Aguas Calientes. The itinerary, guides, trains and tickets are the same as on the other levels.
No, not by default. Tours are shared in a small group with a licensed guide at every level. Private service is quoted on request, and the written confirmation says which service you booked.
No. Each package includes the train class named on its page. Ask for a Hiram Bingham seat when you request a quote and we price it with the rest of the trip.
Yes. The quote lists every hotel by night with the price per person in a double room, before you pay the deposit.
Yes, with the same rules as every trip: a refund if you cancel 30 days or more before, except Machu Picchu tickets and Inca Trail permits already issued, and train tickets minus the railway's penalty.
Send your dates and who is traveling. A planner on our team in Cusco replies with the package that makes sense, or a custom plan.
