Nazca Lines Flight from Pisco, with Paracas and Huacachina, 2 Days
The trip in one paragraph
Book this version if you want the Nazca Lines and do not want to spend nine hours on a bus to get back. You fly from Pisco airport, about 25 minutes from Paracas, instead of driving to the Nazca airfield. The flight is longer because the plane has to cover the distance south and back, and it passes over the Palpa geoglyphs on the way. You are back in Lima in the afternoon of day two. If the budget matters more than the time, the Nazca 2-day tour with the bus back costs half.
Day one on the coast
Pickup before 5 a.m. for the drive to Paracas and the morning boat around the Ballestas Islands, about two hours among sea lions and seabirds. Then a pisco winery near Ica and the dunes at Huacachina, with time by the lagoon or on a buggy. You sleep back in Paracas, by the bay.
Day two over the desert
The flight from Pisco takes about 1 hour 40 minutes. Over the desert you see the Ocucaje valley and the river valleys of Palpa and Ingenio, then the Nazca figures: the whale, the astronaut on its hillside, the monkey, the condor, the spider and the hummingbird. After landing, the drive to Lima is about four hours.
Is the extra money worth paying?
For most travelers, yes. You save a full afternoon and evening on a bus, you see more from the plane and you sleep by the sea instead of in Nazca town. Light flyers who get airsick should know the flight is long, so the tablets matter more here.
Price
One price, US$607 per person, shared service, with the Pisco overflight, a night in a Paracas hotel, the Ballestas boat and all ground transport. Single travelers pay a room supplement, quoted on request through the free quote form.

About two hours on the water, past the Candelabro and around the guano islands. The boat does not land.
A short visit and a tasting, then free time for lunch, paid on your own.
Time by the lagoon, or a buggy and sandboard run on the dunes.
About an hour and a quarter back to the bay. Dinner on your own on the waterfront.

Day2
Paracas, Pisco airport, Nazca Lines overflight, Lima
Lima by mid-afternoon, flight altitude about 4,920 ft (1,500 m)
After breakfast, about 25 minutes from Paracas to the airport. Check-in includes a passport check and a weigh-in to balance the plane.
About 1 hour 40 minutes in the air, over the Ocucaje valley, the Palpa geoglyphs and the Nazca figures, with turns to both sides over each one.

Still have questions?
Everything we get asked about this package before people book.
Why fly from Pisco instead of Nazca?
Time. Flying from Pisco saves the drive to Nazca and the nine-hour bus back to Lima. The flight is longer, about 1 hour 40 minutes, and passes over the Palpa geoglyphs too. You are back in Lima on the afternoon of day two instead of near midnight.
Is the Nazca flight included?
Yes. The overflight from Pisco airport is part of the US$607, with the night in Paracas, breakfast on day two, the Ballestas boat and the ground transport. Lunches, dinners, tips and any fee charged on the spot are extra.
Which Nazca figures are on the route?
Per the operator's route: the whale, the trapezoids, the astronaut, the monkey, the condor, the spider, the hummingbird and the Palpa geoglyphs. The pilot follows the operator's set route, and visibility on the day decides how sharp they look.
Is the Nazca Lines flight safe?
Operators are certified by Peru's transport ministry and we book certified ones only. The planes are small and the turns are tight, which feels worse than it is. Nervous flyers who still want to go should sit near the wing and keep their eyes on the horizon.
Can I do this tour in one day from Lima?
No. The boat runs in the morning and the flights leave in the morning too, so the night in Paracas lets you do both without a 3 a.m. start on day two.
Read before you go
- Things to Do in Lima: 1 or 2 Days Before CuscoGive Lima one full day before Cusco, two if you like to eat: the colonial center and the San Francisco catacombs, then the Miraflores cliffs and Barranco at sunset, with the Larco Museum and Pachacamac or a food walk on day two. Sleep in Miraflores or Barranco, at sea level, and fly up to Cusco rested.
- Nazca Lines Flight: From Lima, What You See, Is It SafeThe Nazca Lines flight is a 30-minute loop from the Nazca airfield or about 1 hour 40 minutes from Pisco over figures scraped into the desert between 500 BC and AD 500. Nazca is about 280 mi (450 km) from Lima, so it takes two days. The planes bank hard, airsickness is common and the accident record deserves a read before you book.
- Huacachina Oasis: What to Do and How to Get ThereHuacachina is a small desert oasis 5 km (3 mi) from Ica, about 300 km (186 mi) south of Lima. Go for dune buggies, sandboarding and the sunset over the dunes. A long day trip from Lima works, but one night, paired with Paracas and the Ballestas Islands, is better.
