Sacred Valley Day Tour: Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero
The trip in one paragraph
This is the Sacred Valley tour for first-time visitors: three big Inca sites, one market and a long buffet lunch, with time to walk each place properly. Book it before your Machu Picchu day, ideally on your second day in Cusco, because the valley is lower than the city. If the salt pans of Maras and the circular terraces of Moray matter more to you than the Pisac market, book the Chinchero, Moray and Maras day tour instead.
How the loop runs
You start at the Pisac terraces, curved stone steps hugging a mountainside high above the Urubamba River, then walk the craft market in Pisac town. Lunch is a buffet in Urubamba. In the afternoon you climb the terraces of the Ollantaytambo fortress, where the Inca stonework is as fine as anything at Machu Picchu. The last stop is Chinchero, a weaving town with a colonial church built on Inca walls, at 12,340 ft (3,762 m), the highest point of the day.
The honest part
It is a full 12 hours with a lot of time in the van and a lot of stairs at Pisac and Ollantaytambo. You see the classics well, but you do not see Moray or Maras. For what each site is and why it matters, read Sacred Valley sites explained.
Price
One price for everyone: US$127 per person, shared service, with transport, guide, the partial Tourist Ticket and lunch. There is no hotel tier because you sleep in your own Cusco hotel. Solo travelers and groups who want their own departure get a quote through the free quote form.

Still have questions?
Everything we get asked about this package before people book.
What is included in this Sacred Valley tour?
Hotel pickup in central Cusco, transport for the whole loop, a bilingual guide, the partial Cusco Tourist Ticket for Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero, and a buffet lunch in Urubamba. Breakfast, dinner, shopping and tips are on you. The price is US$127 per person, shared service.
Pisac market or ruins?
Both, in that order. The tour visits the Pisac terraces first, while the light is soft and the groups are smaller, then gives you free time in the market in Pisac town. If you only care about one, tell your guide and spend more time where you want.
Do I need the Boleto Turístico?
Yes, the Sacred Valley sites are only open with the Boleto Turístico del Cusco, run by COSITUC. On this tour the partial ticket for these three sites is already in the price, so you do not need to buy one yourself.
How is this different from the Chinchero, Moray and Maras tour?
This one is the classic route: more time at Pisac, its market and Ollantaytambo. The other tour trades the market for Moray's circular terraces and the Maras salt pans, with more stops and less time at each. Same price. Pick by interest.
Should I do the Sacred Valley before Machu Picchu?
Yes. The valley is lower than Cusco, so it is easy on your body, and Ollantaytambo shows you Inca stonework before you see the citadel. Many travelers stay the night in the valley and take the train from Ollantaytambo the next morning. Ask us if you want that version.
