Design your own Peru trip
A custom Peru trip is one we build from your dates, your pace and your budget instead of from a published itinerary, using the same hotels, guides, trains and tickets as the packages. It costs nothing to ask. A planner on our team replies in writing with a day-by-day proposal and a price per person, and you decide. Honeymoons, families with small children, groups with mixed fitness, travelers adding the Amazon or Arequipa, and anyone who wants a published package changed by more than a day: this is the page for you.
How it works
Send the form below with your dates, how many people are traveling and what you want to see. Within one working day the planner answers with questions, because the first proposal is only as good as what we know: who is over 65, who hikes, who wants to sleep in the Sacred Valley rather than Cusco. The second message is the day-by-day with hotel names, train times and a per-person price in US dollars, broken into lines so you can see what each night and each ticket costs. You change what you want. When it is right, you pay a 30 percent deposit and we buy the dated tickets under your passport names the same day.
What the planner needs first
- Travel dates, or the month if the dates are open, and how many days you have on the ground.
- Who is traveling: ages, fitness, anyone with a medical condition that matters at altitude.
- What you want to see, in order of importance, and what you want to skip.
- Hotel level: 3-star, 4-star or 5-star, or a mix.
- A rough budget per person, so the first proposal lands in the right range.
- Passport names, only once you confirm, for the tickets and permits.
Sample routes we build often
Machu Picchu and the lake in 8 days. Two nights in Cusco, the Sacred Valley to the train, a night in Aguas Calientes, back to Cusco, the tourist bus to Puno, two nights on Lake Titicaca with a Uros and Taquile day. The route that matches our name, from about US$1,300 per person with 3-star hotels.
A trek plus the family. One parent walks the 5-day Salkantay while the rest of the family does the Sacred Valley and the 2-day train tour, and everyone meets in Aguas Calientes for Machu Picchu on the same morning. Two itineraries, one confirmation.
Cusco for travelers over 70. Four nights in a 4-star hotel in the center, half days only, Machu Picchu by the 2-day train tour, a driver for every transfer and no walk longer than two hours. From about US$900 per person.
Peru and Bolivia in 12 days with Uyuni in the wet season. The published 12-day route moved to February for the mirror, with a night in Copacabana to break the road to La Paz. We tell you about the February Inca Trail closure before you ask.
Sample prices are indicative ranges built from the package prices on this site and change with dates, hotels and group size. The written proposal is the price.
What stays the same
The guides, the hotels by tier, the Machu Picchu ticket on Circuit 2, the trains, the Consettur bus and the written confirmation are the same ones used on the published Peru tours. International flights and the Lima to Cusco flight are never included, in custom trips or packages. If your custom trip is a published package plus one change, say so, and we start from that package's price.

Common questions
Does a custom trip cost more than a package?
Usually a little, because the published packages are priced on group departures and a custom route may need its own vehicle on some days. The difference is visible line by line in the proposal. A custom trip that is a package plus one extra night or one swapped day costs the package price plus that line. Private service for your own group is available on request and quoted per trip.
How far ahead should I ask for a custom trip?
Three months for trips from May to September, because Machu Picchu tickets, train seats and Inca Trail permits sell out for those dates. Six weeks the rest of the year. If your dates are closer, ask anyway. We check live availability before we promise anything, and we tell you what is already gone.
Can you book our flights?
We quote domestic flights (Lima to Cusco, Cusco to Juliaca or Lima, Uyuni to La Paz) if you want them bought together, and we never include them silently in a package price. International flights you book yourself. Tell us the arrival time and we plan the first day around it.
Can you add the Amazon, Arequipa or the Colca Canyon?
Yes. Arequipa and the Colca Canyon are already inside the 15-day Peru itinerary and come as a 3-day block. The Amazon from Puerto Maldonado is a 3 or 4 day lodge stay that we add after Cusco, at lower altitude, which also helps the body. Both are priced as lines in the proposal.
Is there a planning fee or any obligation?
No. The proposal is free and there is no obligation. We ask for a deposit only when you confirm the route, and the deposit goes toward the dated tickets and the hotels. If you change your mind before paying, you owe nothing.
