A Peru travel agency in Cusco, run by the people who guide

You are about to send money to a company in another country. Fair enough to ask who we are first. Here is the short version, with the facts you can check and the rules we put in writing.

Is this a real, registered company?

Yes. Sacred Lake Titikaka is the trading name of Grace Tours Sacred Lake Titikaka E.I.R.L., a Peruvian company with tax ID (RUC) 20447984254, based in Cusco. The same name and number sit at the bottom of every page and on the written confirmation you get when you book. That confirmation is your contract with this company, under Peruvian law.

The agency was founded in 2022 by Vanessa Luffet Quispe Chambi, an official tour guide licensed by GERCETUR Cusco, the regional tourism authority, under license No. 7370. You can read more about her, and every guide she has written, further down this page.

Read the booking and cancellation terms before you decide.

Who answers you, and how fast?

A trip planner in Cusco, in English, within one working day. The office works Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Peru time (GMT-5). Peru keeps GMT-5 all year, so for most of the year we share US Central time.

You get every answer in writing: the day-by-day plan, hotel names, train times and the price per person in US dollars. If you prefer chat to email, the quote form lets you continue on WhatsApp. Either way, nothing is agreed out loud and lost.

Send your dates and get a free quote.

Can you pay safely from the United States?

You pay a 30 percent deposit by card, through a payment link we send you, with any major card. The balance is paid on arrival in Peru, before the first service, by card or in cash. Every payment gets a receipt.

Nothing is charged before you say yes in writing. There is no account to create and no automatic charge later. The deposit exists for one reason: the Machu Picchu ticket, the train seat and the Inca Trail permit are bought in your name the day you confirm, and they sell out.

What if you need to cancel?

Cancel 30 days or more before the trip and you get a refund. The exceptions are the ones the operators impose, not us: Machu Picchu tickets and Inca Trail permits cannot be refunded once issued in your name, and train tickets come back minus the railway's penalty. You tell us by email or WhatsApp and we confirm the refund in writing.

If a strike, a landslide or a closed road blocks a service, your trip is rescheduled. We move the dates, rebook what is needed and tell you the moment we know. Buy travel insurance that covers cancellation and medical care at altitude. We do not sell insurance and earn nothing on it.

Why book with a small agency instead of a big operator?

Be honest with yourself about what you want. A big operator will show you more reviews, because it has been selling for longer. We are a young company, and we say so.

What you get here is a short chain. The person who answers your email works in Cusco, books your tickets and knows the guide who will meet you. Tours are shared in small groups with a licensed guide, which is what the published prices cover. Private service is quoted on request, and the confirmation says which one you bought. We never call a shared tour private.

Every package page shows a real starting price per person. Machu Picchu trips start at US$317, treks from Cusco at US$137 and Lake Titicaca trips at US$127. No price appears only after a sales call.

What we organize

Trips across southern Peru and into Bolivia, all run from Cusco: Machu Picchu tours by train, treks from Cusco including the Inca Trail and Salkantay, day trips from Cusco, Lake Titicaca tours, and full Peru vacation packages of 6 to 15 days. If none of them fits, ask for a custom trip.

Planning first? The travel guides answer what people ask us most, from how Machu Picchu tickets work to when Inca Trail permits sell out. The FAQ covers the rest.

A note on the reviews on this site

The traveler reviews on our home page come from Viajes Cusco Perú, our sister agency in Cusco, and they are labeled that way. Sacred Lake Titikaka will show its own reviews as its travelers leave them.

Tell us your dates and who is coming. A planner replies in writing within one working day.
